spurs
For showing, you must always wear spurs for quality transitions
Every horse reacts differently
to spurs, If you are not sure how to go about using them consult
a professional high quality horses trainer.
We all use them and they must be used properly to achieve successful
results,
I change my spurs for riding different types of horses.
I generally prefer a fixated
rowel for both my English and western boots.
marking up a horses sides is never an option with
me.
I prefer a wide band on my spurs so they are heavy and stay in place.
I like a nice gooseneck style of shank at least 2 1/2 inches long for my western spurs.
Just because
you wear spurs does not mean you have to use them.
To me they are insurance only. I always try to use no spur
at all.
when you see a really good
trainer, their feet are whisper quiet and they barely if at all, ever touch their horses sides with their
spurs.
In the show ring I try to make all my cues totally invisible.
